Almost 50 volunteers have worked tirelessly at Bristol Estate Emergency Food Hub throughout the Covid19 crisis providing residents experiencing hardship with nutritious cooked meals and food parcels. One of our volunteers, Natasha is a journalist and kindly organised a fundraising campaign through the NUJ to help BE Emergency Food Hub purchase much needed equipment.
We would like to extend huge thanks to the NUJ for raising the funds that have enabled us to buy a new food mixer for the hub! Chefs are now regularly adding delicious cakes and pastries to the daily menu - which all our residents have really enjoyed.
Future plans for BE Café / Community Room include cooking classes and community food nights and our mixer will be a very welcome and useful addition.
Our fantastic new food mixer in action!
