BELTA hosted its annual Halloween AGM event on the 2nd of November. We had over 100 people, including lots of young people, turn up to dress up in their spooky costumes, enjoy our buffet, partake in pumpkin carving, have their tarot read by Madame Amanda, and finish off with a firework show.
We celebrated the achievements we have obtained this year, including introducing three new Trustees, Ryan, Beth, and Leanne who were unanimously elected with 33 ballots cast.
BELTA has been championing resident advocacy on a variety of issues important to residents, such as flytipping, loose rubbish, neatening up the pathways, tackling anti-social behaviour, and improving the green environment of Bristol Estate. We've made some significant improvements in this, and really shows the power of community spirit.
Over the next year, BELTA aims to continue to provide a place where people can gather, socialise, and be welcomed. We will continue to support people throughout winter, ensuring no-one has to make the choice between eating or heating. We will continue to host a variety of different free events, so there's always something to do! And will continue to be a strong voice for residents on a variety of issues with it's regular drop-in surgery with the ward councillor, and remains a constructive presence at a variety of different panels and forums to ensure residents are represented.
